Get Your Hands Dirty for National Tree Week

Posted in by on November 29, 2014 and has no comments yet

_B2K8451National Tree Week is the UK’s largest annual tree celebration. First launched in 1975, this national event marks the start of the tree planting season, which begins every winter.

During this week communities gather together through organised events in their area to do something positive with their own treescape. This involves voluntary bodies, local authorities, 200 schools and 8,000 tree wardens joining together to set up fun, educational events to inspire people to come together, get their hands dirty and plant trees.

This is a positive move in the conservation of our environment and as a hotel we are very passionate about integrating a sustainable green policy.

As part of the Green Tourism Business Scheme we are taking steps to becoming an environmentally friendly, sustainable establishment. We achieve this by purchasing recycled materials, using recycled packaging where possible and maintaining a respect for natural resources through water and energy conservation.
