Get your frying pans, eggs, milk and flour at the ready, it’s time to go pancake crazy!
Pancake Day, also known as Shrove Tuesday, is the day before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Some countries celebrate Shrove Tuesday by preparing and eating pancakes with a variety of different toppings. So gorge to your hearts content as we list our favourite pancake toppings to enjoy at home before Lent begins…
Lemon & Sugar – keep it simple with lemon juice and sugar, it’s a wonderful combo.
Chocolate, Banana & Strawberries – A fairly guilt-free option as bananas and strawberries hold so much goodness, we’re not even sure how the chocolate sauce got there… but it tastes good!
Golden Syrup – This golden great needs no companion on your pancake, it’s perfect on its own.
Syrup, Pecan Nuts & Ice Cream – We’re taking it to the next level here mixing the warmth of your freshly fried pancake with the coldness of the creamy (preferably vanilla) ice cream.
Spiced Apple – Another fairly guilt-free recipe which sounds too good to ignore.
Blueberries, Raspberries & Strawberries – If you don’t want to discard your diet for a day don’t worry, this is the perfect alternative.
