We’re celebrating 25 years of the finest French restaurant in Hampshire this August. Le Blaireau Bar & Bistro is famous for its warm, hospitable staff, relaxed and authentic French atmosphere and delicious regional French cooking. The restaurant in the New Forest regularly caters for small, romantic meals, large group bookings simple relaxed luncheons on a daily basis and is very popular among the locals of the New Forest.

To mark this wonderful occasion we are hosting a Birthday celebration on Thursday 28th August with an evening of French music, food and more.

The original restaurant was built in 1978 and named the Jugged Hare pub. Dishes on the Jugged Hare menu included a New Forest ‘Smokie’ with salad at just £1.35 and a Jacket Potato and Baked Beans for 95p. The pub served traditional English cuisine for 11 years until it was renovated in 1989 and renamed Le Blaireau.

The restaurant décor is as fresh as the first day it opened 25 years ago. Le Roux is the ‘Street’ at the back of the restaurant and this is the perfect location for private dining and you feel as though you are dining al fresco, or should we say “en plein air”, on the streets of Paris.

“The Moules are as good as our visits to France and the steak was great quality. Staff are always attentive and polite. It is a very casual environment but this takes nothing away from the food. Overall a great option for a casual meal but also for a good evening with friends.” Lady35, Essex

Great host with good sense of humour and excellent food!! The rest of the crew was also very nice, polite and perfect.” AnitadeBlok, The Netherlands

Celebrations for the restaurant’s 25th Birthday will begin at 6:30pm on Thursday 28th August with cocktails and a delicious three course meal to the sounds of Musique à Trois. There will be a traditional tombola raffle and those who attend the evening will receive a free raffle ticket, with the option to purchase further raffle tickets throughout the night. All proceeds from additional purchased raffle tickets will be donated to the Oakhaven Hospice in Lymington.

Tickets for the event are £35 pp and include cocktail reception, 3 course meal, tombola raffle and a disco. To make a booking please call Francoise Gysemans on 01590 625204.
