Summer has arrived and so has National Picnic Week. One of the UK’s most popular summer activities, picnicking is a great way to spend time with family and friends outside in the sunshine. The New Forest is home to many of the UK’s most picturesque picnic locations for you to discover during your summer holiday in the New Forest. Here are just a few of our favourites:
Wilverley Plain is the perfect location for those who like to be among the wildlife. It is a popular area for ponies to graze and with its wide, open space it is also suitable for ball games such as rounders.
Bolderwood has a great cycle route and walking trails which will certainly work up an appetite for your picnic. We recommend you take the Deer Watch Trail – the clue is in the name. You’ll be able to spot and admire the deer as they wander around the area.
Anderwood is a peaceful location for those who enjoy listening to the sounds of the woodland wildlife. It also has barbecue facilities and car parking as well as lovely walking trails for you to explore. Blackwater is located on the beautiful Rhinefield Ornamental Drive which we can’t recommend enough. Just a 5 minute drive from Careys Manor, it’s a beautiful part of the New Forest and home to some of the UK’s tallest Douglas fir trees.
All these locations and more around the New Forest hold some great little trails for you to discover by foot, bike and horse. At Careys Manor we offer a great cycling break for two for just £99.50 per person including a picnic hamper for you to enjoy
