Roseanne & Daniel – 24th August 2014
Daniel proposed to me in 2010 by placing my beautiful diamond ring on top of the Christmas tree.
The bride’s dress
My wedding dress was a beautiful princess gown designed by Ronald Joyce called Doreana. It had an ivory corset with sequin and lace embellishments and a lace back. The dress kicked out from the hip to a full floor length a-line skirt.
The Groom’s suit
Daniels suit was a black Edwardian cut with a pin strip waist coat teamed with a fushia cravat and handkerchief.
I chose my sister Chloe to be my bridesmaid. She wore a black silk dress with a lace up back teamed with a fushia wrap. Daniel and I’s beautiful daughter Paige was our flower girl. She wore a little ivory dress with fushia bows and a fushia ribbon around her waist.
Why did you choose Careys Manor Hotel for your wedding?
We chose Careys Manor as it’s always been my dream wedding venue – a beautiful country manor house in the heart of the new forest surrounded by trees.
We had our ceremony in the stunning lounge in all it’s wooded glory! It has the most amazing roof with large wood beams which was why we chose this room. Our daughter Paige read a beautiful poem dedicated to her daddy called ‘Daddy’s little girl’. Daniel had no idea she was going to read this so it was a complete surprise, one which had most of our guests in tears. It was so moving.
Our music was provided by the hotels harpist who played ‘Pachelbel’s Cannon’ on my entrance. It was stunning.
We had our reception in the Manor Suite. It was the grandest of the rooms with it’s high ceilings and big mirrors. We chose this room as as it was light yet had a warm feel. We had black and fushia chair covers and fushia runners which were provided by the hotel in our complete celebration package. We also had black favour boxes wraped in a fushia ribbon filled with love hearts. We chose fushia gerberas for the table centres which were placed in large Martini glasses. Nice and simple yet very striking.
We had our evening reception in the Ceder Suite which sported it’s own bar. We had the resident DJ for our entertainment which was also included in our package and was very good value for money. The reception room also had a patio area were our guests could cool down and relax.
How do you feel the day went?
Our day went better than we ever could have dreamed of. Careys Manor’s wedding planner Francoise and her team couldn’t of done more for us. They were there to assist me with all my bridal worries and the attention to detail was second to none.
The one memory I won’t forget is waking up on the morning of my wedding to the crisp fresh air that swept in as I opened the doors on to the patio in mine and my sisters room. It was the most perfect day in the most perfect location.
