21st August 2015
James and I had a night away with Brighton. We had talked a lot about getting married and we simply went and choose a ring from a shop in the lanes.
Why did you choose Careys Manor Hotel for your wedding?
James took me for a night away at Careys for my 30th Birthday a few years ago. I said then that I wanted to get married there, so it was my first choice.
I wore a dress by Justin Alexander, it was all lace with a sweetheart neck, and I also had a bolero over to give it some sleeves.
Tell us about the Groom’s outfit
James bought his suit from Hugo Boss it was a blue slim fit suit. He also wore the pocket watch on his waste jacket that I gave him as a wedding present
My maid-of-honour was my friend Kirsty, I also had Kirsty’s daughter as a flower girl and my two nieces. The bridesmaids wore a coral pink knee length dress from Coast and the flower girls wore lace dresses from Monsoon
We decided to get married in the walled garden as this suited us perfectly. My mum gave me away to a piece of music that was special to me and my dad this was a piano gove on Annies song. I also had a photo of my dad on my bouquet. Our sons brought the rings up and made everyone smile when they held hands and gave each other a little kiss.
We used the Cedar Suite as we wanted a BBQ and this had the outdoor space that we wanted. It was decorated with an arch we had made for the doorway, Owen from Little Lillies decorated the arch with white Hydrangeas.
We used some wood from our own woods and Owen decorated them with roses & Succulents.
Our theme was mainly about using what we had so lots of wood and rustic bits AND baskets for the cards. We also used a Polaroid camera for our guests to use and this went down really well, we used a large photo frame to peg the photos up this and now we have them up in our kitchen.
How do you feel the day went?
The day could not have been more perfect, everyone raved about how beautiful the location was and how much fun they had.
Any particular memories from your Wedding Story that stand out that you would like to share?
I’m sitting here trying to think of 1 particular thing that stood out but the whole day was so wonderful it’s hard to choose anything. I could not recommend it highly enough to anyone that was wanting a stress free day in a beautiful location.
