Liz and Kevin’s January 2013 Wedding at Careys Manor Hotel & SenSpa

“We could not think of a better place to have celebrated this day and I am so very very grateful to all the team at Careys Manor”. Liz & Kevin

The Proposal
We had been together for 11 years and had our little girl in June 2012. At that point we realised we wanted to be married and that there was no reason to wait so we booked the wedding at Careys Manor straight away!

The Wedding Dress
Ivory A-line dress with beading across the bodice, laced up at the back and worn with Hot pink shoes! I loved peoples reaction when they saw the flash of pink shoes as I walked!

The Groom’s Outfit
Grey suit with a pink tie to match the Bride’s pink shoes.

Your Bridesmaids
My best friend Laura was my bridesmaid and she wore a dark blue dress.

The Ceremony
We had an evening ceremony in the lounge. The log fire was roaring away and the room had been laid out so beautifully by the staff. We had two fantastic ladies from Winchester Registration office who talked us through every moment and made the ceremony even more special. The lighting was romantic and the atmosphere created by theIMG_16626735750717 team at Careys really was magical.

The Reception
After the ceremony we were guided through to the bar and handed Champagne, the staff had even decorated the flutes with bows to give them an extra special touch. We then had photos taken in front of the log fire which although a tad warm really was fantastic!

Many many photos later we went through to Le Blaireau and were met by the most fantastic team I have come across in a hotel, wow! They handed me a drink and talked me through some details for the evening. When I saw the room all set up I was really overwhelmed by how much they had done, from menus on the table with some beautiful wording, to setting up a place for my 7 month old daughter with her own plate and cutlery. They really did think of everything. The food was incredible and the service even more so!

The evening went by in a very happy blur but every single person commented on what a wonderful atmosphere there was.

Whilst my husband and I had 5 minutes to ourselves at the bar, we bumped into a couple who were celebrating their 1st anniversary. They had married at Careys Manor the year before and had loved it so much they vowed to come back for every anniversary.

We chose pink Gerberas as they matched the colour of my shoes!

The décor
We had flashes of hot pink scattered around to compliment the shoes but everything else was very simple. We had our reception in Le Blaireau in the room set up as a French street – what more could you want in a venue!

How do you feel the day went?
Perfect! The way the staff greeted us on arrival, the way in which the people helping me get ready were shown to the room, the photographer snapping away without me even noticing, the manager walking me to the lounge to make my entrance, the incredible food, the incredible atmosphere and most of all the incredible memories.

What particular memories stand out for you?
The laughter. Our wedding was small and simple and full of laughter. A particular highlight was an impromptu speech from my two brothers – it was hilarious and summed up a happy, family centered wedding. I could not think of a better place to have celebrated this day and I am so very very grateful to all the team at Careys Manor.
