Sarah and Stewart got married at Careys Manor on 03/09/16 and after a bit of a wet start the skies cleared, ready for a glorious wedding day to remember.
Tell us about the Proposal
Stewart proposed in Dubai in front of the Burj Al Arab on the beach as we were watching the sunset.
Why did you choose Careys Manor Hotel for your wedding?
Both Stewart and I have roots from our younger years in Brockenhurst and because of the high customer service level the hotel provides.
Tell us about the Bride’s outfit
I wore a MiaMia classic and flattering 50′s style dress, immaculately cut from Royal Satin and hand beaded on the neckline and waist with hundreds of delicate pearls.
Tell us about the Groom’s outfit
Stewart wore a traditional morning suit with an Ivory Tie and fawn double breasted waist coat.
Tell us who your Bridesmaids were and what they wore
The bridesmaids were Jennifer Ashford, Jennifer Hazell, Stacey Wood and Lucy Beale and they also wore short 1950′s style dresses in Coral.
Tell us about the ceremony
The Ceremony took place in the Cedar Garden and I walked down the isle to a flute & harp playing Pachelbel’s Canon.
Tell us about your reception
Our reception was in the Cedar Suite and it was full of emotions!! Firstly the room looked so elegant as again all the flowers were white and ivory to match the chairs and their ivory covers. We did the speeches first with my father not leaving a dry eye in the room!!! Stewart’s speech was the perfect mix of tenderness and humour and the best man speech… well let’s leave that there!!
What flowers did you choose?
We had all ivory and white flowers in tall glass vases and they were a mixture of roses, lilies, hydrangeas, air plants, thistles and rosemary.
How do you feel the day went?
It was such an emotional day that went perfectly… it really was the best day of our lives and everyone had SO much fun!!
Any particular memories from your Wedding Story that stand out that you would like to share?
Our favourite moment was just before the ceremony started the rain arrived and the usher’s had to dash all over the hotel to get umbrella’s to shelter the guests in the garden. It rain for 10 minutes and as the bride stepped out of the hotel the rain stopped and the umbrella’s came down and the sun came out.
