From the colour scheme to the invites, and the wedding cake to the flowers, there is a lot to think about when it comes to organising your dream day.
So to help with your decisions our Wedding Coordinator, Francoise Gysemans, has compiled a list of the chicest trends to make sure your day is just how you imagined.
Pink is back! Not bright hot pink but soft pinks, to match the cheeks of the blushing bride. Think nudes, peaches and blushes. Perfect for any season, as the soft palette of colours will complement the bride and bridesmaids regardless of the whereabouts of the sun!
Peonies are a very on trend flower right now. Regardless of the occasion, these blooms are making appearances in all types of flower displays, due to their beautiful (and copious) amounts of petals.
It’s also important to not forget about the greenery in your display or bouquet. And right now, the more unusual, the better! Soft vines, geranium leaves and maidenhair fern are all very popular to really make the display stand out.
Metallics are making a comeback, but be wary of the colour. Tawny bronze and rose golds are really hot right now, but avoid anything to garish such as yellowy gold.
Making your invites personal to you is becoming more and more possible, due to the technology we now have to produce these for affordable prices. Free hand illustrations are becoming increasingly popular – a very personal touch!
Everything you associate with a traditional wedding cake, forget about it. The structure, texture and that fruit cake filling? It’s all in the past.
Pick a flavour you both love, and a colour you feel represents that. Move away from square symmetrical layers and opt for something round, with different heights of tiers. This is becoming a new trend now – so most cake suppliers should be able to cater for something a bit different.
