Having been many guests first point of contact when arriving at Careys Manor Hotel & SenSpa for over 30 years, Colin Parkes offers a warm welcome, a friendly smile and a personal touch to the entrance of the stunning 17th century manor house.
As one of the hotel’s longest serving employees, Colin takes great pride in his work, something that is clearly evident in reviews left by many guests staying at the hotel.
In recognition of his exemplary customer service and his outstanding contribution to the industry as a whole, Colin was awarded the acclaimed title of ‘Concierge of the Year – Regional Member’ in the eighth Morris Golden Keys Concierge Awards 2013.
Having been awarded the winner of the well-respected category, Colin explains his delight:
“Being lucky enough to be able to call Careys Manor Hotel my place of work and the New Forest my home, I relish the opportunity to introduce the wonders of the area to guests arriving for their stay. Despite having worked at Careys Manor for the past 31 years, I never get tired of meeting all of the wonderful people I have the opportunity to speak to on a daily basis; I honestly couldn’t imagine a job I would rather do.”
Colin then won his second award of the year at the Beautiful South Awards 2013; Silver for ‘Outstanding Customer Service’. These awards represent the culmination of hard work and dedication by the best tourism professionals, in the best tourism businesses.
Colin has enjoyed being part of the Careys Manor Hotel & SenSpa family and looks forward to many more years of sharing his passion and knowledge with guests he meets – he even asserts that the hotel is not a job but a way of life and that if you cut his arm off it would read “Careys Manor” in the middle, just like a stick of rock.
